Silver State Chess Association presents the 2026 Southern Nevada Chess Championship at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The tournament is a five-round Swiss with Championship and Reserve sections and two schedule options. REGISTRATION Registration is handled externally through King Registration. Chess67 is not the registration provider and does not process payments for this event. Register here: https://www.kingregistration.com/event/SNV26 3-DAY SCHEDULE Round 1: Friday, October 23 at 6:00 PM Round 2: Saturday, October 24 at 10:00 AM Round 3: Saturday, October 24 at 4:00 PM Round 4: Sunday, October 25 at 10:00 AM Round 5: Sunday, October 25 at 4:00 PM All rounds in the 3-day schedule use G/90+30. 2-DAY SCHEDULE Round 1: Saturday, October 24 at 10:00 AM Round 2: Saturday, October 24 at 1:00 PM Players merge with the 3-day schedule after Round 2. Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2-day schedule use G/65;d5. Remaining rounds use G/90+30. SECTIONS AND PRIZES Championship Section 1st: $500 + Trophy 2nd: $250 Top U2000: $200 Reserve Section 1st: $200 Top U1600: $100 Prize Fund: $1,250 guaranteed, plus a separate $750 prize fund for finalists competing November 6–8. ENTRY FEE $65 through October 10 $85 after October 10 US Chess membership is required. The event is US Chess rated and operates under US Chess rules; it is not FIDE rated. BYES A maximum of two half-point byes is allowed. For the 3-day schedule, bye requests must be made before the start of Round 2. For the 2-day schedule, bye requests must be made before the start of Round 1. Boards and clocks will be provided, although players may bring their own. FINALS QUALIFICATION The top three qualifying Southern Nevada Championship players will advance to an online round robin against the top three Northern Nevada qualifiers on November 6–8, 2026 for the Nevada State Championship. The top three U1600 qualifiers will similarly advance to the Nevada Reserve Championship finals. Players from outside Nevada may participate in this tournament.
