Greetings from Argentina, my name is Matias Halac and I was born in Detroit, USA, but my family moved to Argentina when I was 7 years old. I am fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese (I also lived in Brazil). I've been playing chess for most of my life. I started with the basics at age 6 and participated in my first tournament at age 9. At 48 years old, I have extensive experience in chess, including playing, writing, and teaching.
