The Tulane Classic

The 2026 Tulane Classic is a two-day classical tournament hosted by Tulane Chess Club and Downriver Chess at Tulane University. Held in the Qatar Ballroom at the Lavin-Bernick Center, the event features five rounds, two sections (Open and U1500), a $2,100 prize fund, and USCF-rated play with the top section also FIDE-rated. The weekend also includes a Friday night blitz side event and is part of Downriver Chess’s larger all-ages tournament calendar.
