Castlebar Chess Club is a friendly, welcoming club for players of all ages and abilities - from complete beginners to seasoned tournament players.

We meet fortnightly for casual games, friendly competition, learning and plenty of chess chat. Alongside our regular club nights, we'll be running tournaments, themed learning sessions, game analysis nights and working towards building a club team to represent Castlebar against other clubs.

Whether you're looking to improve your game, get back into chess, meet some fellow players or simply spend an evening moving wooden pieces around and questioning your life choices, there's a place for you here.

A quick note on age:
Everyone is welcome at Castlebar Chess Club, but as our club meets on licensed pub premises, we ask that members are 9 years of age or older, in accordance with Irish licence requirements. We also ask that all minors are accompanied by a parent or guardian who will supervise them on the night.
