Chess Tournaments in Ireland

Chess in Ireland is organized under the Irish Chess Union (ICU), founded in 1912 and a FIDE member federation since 1933. The ICU runs the Irish Chess Championship and selects the national team, while day-to-day club chess is organized through four provincial bodies — the Leinster, Ulster, Munster, and Connacht chess unions.
