29th Texas North/Central Grade Championships 2026

The 29th Texas North/Central Grade Championships 2026 is an official Texas state championship conducted under US Chess rules. This mock Chess67 listing is provided for information only; Chess67 is not the official registration provider and does not process payments for this event.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to Texas residents and students enrolled in Texas schools, including homeschool students. Players must have active US Chess and Texas Chess Association memberships. Players may not play up or down a grade. Sections may be merged depending on entries.

FORMAT AND RATING
Six-round Swiss. Time control: G/60; d5. US Chess rated; not FIDE rated. Operational rules: US Chess. Players may request up to one half-point bye in any round except the final round.

SCHEDULE
Round 1 — Friday, November 13 at 7:00 PM
Round 2 — Saturday, November 14 at 11:00 AM
Round 3 — Saturday, November 14 at 2:00 PM
Round 4 — Saturday, November 14 at 5:00 PM
Round 5 — Sunday, November 15 at 10:00 AM
Round 6 — Sunday, November 15 at 2:00 PM

SECTIONS
12th Grade; 11th Grade; 10th Grade; 9th Grade; 8th Grade; 7th Grade; 6th Grade; 5th Grade; 4th Grade; 3rd Grade; 2nd Grade; 1st Grade; Kindergarten.

PRIZES
Trophies will be awarded to the top five players in each section. Team trophies will be awarded to the top two teams in each section.
