Discovery Chess Learning Academy

Discovery Chess Learning Academy is a nonprofit chess organization based in Akron, Ohio, founded in 2007. The academy provides structured coaching for players of all levels, from beginners to nationally ranked competitors.

They offer scholastic programs, private coaching, and tournament preparation, along with both online and in-person training. In addition to competitive success, the academy focuses on life skills such as critical thinking, discipline, and resilience.

The organization is also actively involved in community outreach, including providing chess education programs to underserved youth and supporting initiatives in women’s health and women in chess.
