Review a scanned game with the board and analysis

Step by step

1. Open the scan and resolve its earliest missing or invalid moves so the board represents the intended game.
2. Use the move list or Previous move and Next move controls to select a position.
3. Enable Analysis and let the engine load its suggestions for that position.
4. Read the evaluation and suggested continuations. In this scanner, positive evaluations favor White and negative evaluations favor Black; mate indicators describe a forced mate found by the engine.
5. Compare the suggestion with the move actually played, and continue through the game. Use PGN or an analysis-site button if you want to review it elsewhere.

You can inspect positions and suggested moves without confusing a recommended move with the recorded move.
