Understand pairing settings and warnings

Check seeds, player availability, repeat opponents, colors, and other pairing warnings before publishing.

Step by step

  1. Open the intended section and round. Review player ratings, starting order, requested byes, and withdrawals before generating pairings.
  2. Choose the pairing method that matches the section rules. The explanation beside the method describes its intended use.
  3. Review repeat-opponent, same-name or family, color, board-number, and overlapping-game warnings. A shared surname is a reason to check; it does not prove two players share an account.
  4. Before you regenerate pairings, check which boards are locked. Locked boards stay as they are, and the rest are paired again.
  5. Confirm the reviewed preview before sharing it. Rolling or arena pairings continuously match available players instead of creating one complete round at a time.
