About This Tournament
3rd Annual Chess for Cure Open, organized by Discovery Chess Learning Academy.
This event supports awareness and funding for women’s gynecologic cancer research and promotes women in chess. Proceeds benefit the Cleveland Clinic and US Women’s Chess initiatives.
Features multiple sections including FIDE-rated Open and U2000 divisions, along with scholastic and amateur sections. Over $8,000 in guaranteed prizes based on 160 entries.
Special recognition awarded to the top woman player in each section.
A benefit gala, “Lights! Camera! Checkmate!”, will take place on April 24.
